Barbara A. Shultz, age 83, of Risingsun, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green. She was born on October 28, 1940, in Wayne, Ohio to the late Glenn E. & Marvel Irene (Kinney) Yambert. Barb married Richard Wayne Shultz on January 1, 1960, in Risingsun, and he preceded her in passing in April 2004.

Surviving Barb are her sons, Ronald Shultz, Randall (Linda) Shultz both of Risingsun; grandchildren, Krystal (Bob) and Skylar; and great-grandchildren, Colton, Karmen, Keely, and Brayden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn & Marvel; loving husband, Richard; son, Russell “Rusty” Shultz; and brother, Don Yambert.

Barb was a 1958 graduate of Risingsun High School, and then worked many years as a Bookkeeper at the Fostoria Country Club, and then Fiscal Officer for the Village of Risingsun. She was a member of the Risingsun Fire Department Auxiliary and enjoyed some time working at the Cozy Corner in Risingsun, traveling to flea markets, watching old western movies, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Football fan.

Her greatest love in life though, was spending time with her family.

Barb’s family would like to give a special heartfelt thank you to Bridge Hospice Care Center at Wood County Hospital, Nurse Joy of Bridge Stone Hospice, Danielle at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Bowling Green, and the many others who cared for Barb during her final days. You all are God sent angels doing what you do. Denise Perkey and Jody Yambert are also truly appreciated through these difficult times as they have helped our family so much.

Friends will be received for a Memorial Visitation from 6-8 PM on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 11 AM with Pastor Ron Merritt officiating. Immediately following, a graveside service will be held at Bradner Cemetery, with a bereavement luncheon to follow at the Bradner Fire Department.

Barb’s family would like to request everyone to dress in casual, red, or OSU attire.
