BG man cited for leaving the scene of an accident

A Bowling Green man has been cited for leaving the scene of an accident.

At 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to the 100 block of Wolfly Avenue for a dispute.

A witness told police he heard arguing between a male and female and that the female was telling the male to let her out of the vehicle.

The driver, later identified as Charles Hands III, 19, then quickly backed his vehicle, striking the witness’s car, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

Hands then left the scene.

Police were able to speak with the female on the phone with assistance from her mother, according to the report.

Officers were told Hands was in the 200 block of South Prospect Street. When they arrived, the female told them Hands had left on foot. He was later observed inside the home, according to the report.

Hands did admit to backing into the other vehicle and not stopping to report the accident.

He also was cited for improper backing.
