Bowling Green State University women’s soccer standouts Brynn Gardner and Isabelle Gilmore each have been named to the All-Mid-American Conference First Team.

The All-MAC Team and specialty-award winners were announced on Tuesday afternoon by the league office.

Additionally, first-year Falcon phenoms Taylor Green and Emma Stransky each were chosen to the MAC’s All-Freshman Team.

Gardner, a sophomore, and Gilmore, a junior, each were named to the all-conference team for the first time in their respective careers. Gardner was named to the conference all-freshman team in 2022.

Gardner, a native of Whitehouse, Ohio (Anthony Wayne), leads the Falcons in scoring, with 16 points. She has a team-high six goals, and ranks second on the Falcons with four assists. Fourteen of those 16 points game in MAC play, as she tied for sixth in the league in total points in MAC matches.

Gardner deadlocked for seventh in the MAC in goals, goals per game and points per game in conference contests. She leads the Falcons with three game-winning goals, including a pair of late winners in league play vs. Eastern Michigan (with 2:01 remaining) and Ball State (with just 28 seconds to go).

The BSU game marked the first two-goal match of her BG career, as she scored both Falcon goals in a 2-1 win.

Gilmore, who hails from DeWitt, Mich. (DeWitt), has played in 13 of the Falcons’ 17 matches to date. She played every second of every match over the first 13 contests and – despite missing four games due to injury – she still ranks third on the team in minutes played.

The center-back helped the Falcons to four-straight shutouts to begin MAC play. Gilmore has played in 52 matches, making 50 starts, in her BGSU career, and has helped the Orange and Brown keep 23 clean sheets in that time.

Green, a native of Plainfield, Ill. (Plainfield), has played in 15 matches this season to date, starting the last 12. BGSU is 10-3-2 in games in which she has seen action, including an 8-2-2 mark when she starts. After missing the first two games due to injury, she made her BG debut in a win over Loyola Chicago in late August.

Green saw her playing time gradually increase until Oct. 1, when she played all 90 minutes of a match for the first time. Beginning that day, the defender has played 717 of the team’s last 720 minutes. She helped the Falcons keep six clean sheets in MAC action.

Stransky, from Copley, Ohio (Copley), has played in 16 of BGSU’s 17 contests, making a pair of starts, and is tied for third on the team in scoring.

Stransky has eight points on three goals and two assists to date. Her first collegiate goal came on the road against nationally-ranked Pittsburgh, and her other two goals each proved to be the game winner, in 1-0 victories over Akron and Northern Illinois at Cochrane Stadium.

Her assists came in road wins over Detroit Mercy and Ohio. She ranks second on the Falcons in points per minute, trailing only Gardner.

BGSU has an overall record of 10-5-2, and the Falcons went 8-1-2 in MAC play to finish second in the 12-team conference.

BG, the number-two seed for the MAC Tournament will face Ohio in Thursday’s first semifinal match, beginning at 11 a.m. at the WMU Soccer Complex in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The BGSU-Ohio survivor will advance to Sunday’s league tourney championship match, which will begin at 1 p.m. in Kalamazoo.
