Wayne food distribution is Thursday

WAYNE — The monthly food distribution for the Wayne area will be held Thursday from 9-10 a.m. at the Wayne Fire station, 200 N. Center St. The food distribution is for those in the 43466 zip code.

Kiwanis Club’s guest is from the BGSU School of Nursing

The Bowling Green Kiwanis Club will meet Thursday at the Slater Family Ice Arena Lounge, situated on the campus of Bowling Green State University. The public is invited.

Commencing at noon, this event offers am opportunity for attendees to engage with their community while enjoying a lunch, available for $15 starting at 11:30 a.m.

This week’s guest speaker is Dr. Shelly Bussard, the inaugural director of the BGSU School of Nursing. Dr. Bussard will share her insights into the captivating topic, “Nursing at BGSU: Past, Present, and Future.” With her wealth of knowledge and experience, attendees can expect a comprehensive exploration of the evolution of nursing education, encompassing its rich history, current endeavors, and exciting prospects for the future.

Recycle glass, electronics in Perrysburg

PERRYSBURG — GOI Glass and AIM eCycling are hosting a glass and electronic recycling drive on Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the OI campus at 1 Michael Owens Way in Perrysburg.

Drive through e-cycling and glass drop-off will be located in the parking lot between buildings 3 and 4. Glass bottles and jars only.

Acceptable electronic items include flat screen TVs and monitors, small kitchen appliances, irons, blow dryers, printers, radios, DVD players, etc. Tube style TVs and monitors will not be accepted.

Participants will receive a free 14 oz. jar of honey from ToledoGrows, while supplies last.

Wood County Chapter of Ohio Genealogical Society meets

The Wood County Chapter of Ohio Genealogical Society will meet on Tuesday at 6:30 pm. in the Wood County Senior Center, Room 124, 140 S. Grove St. The public is welcome.

The brief business meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Dan Baker from Hayes Presidential Center at Fremont will present a program entitled “President R.B. Hayes and Lake Erie.”

VFW serves lake perch dinner

The VFW Post 1148 in Bowling Green is serving a lake perch dinner Friday from 4-7:30 p.m.

The meal will include four pieces of fish, scalloped potatoes, cole slaw and cookie for $14.

Alternatively, a two-piece fish dinner with four shrimp is an option with the same sides.

The post is located at 719 S. Main St. Dine in or carry-out is available.

Pemberville UMC holds public dinner

PEMBERVILLE — The Pemberville United Methodist Church’s carryout public dinner is Saturday at 205 Perry St. from 4 p.m. until sold out. The menu is roast beef, baked potato, green beans, roll, and homemade desserts. The donation is $12.

Curbside pickup is on Maple Street.
