Free movie at N. Baltimore library
NORTH BALTIMORE — The North Baltimore Public Library’s free October movie, by suggestion, will be “Jules.” Milton lives a quiet life of routine in a small western Pennsylvania town, but finds his day upended when a UFO and its extra-terrestrial passenger crash land in his backyard.
The movie will be shown on Wednesday with a start time of 6 p.m. at The Virginia Theater, 119 N. Main St. The theater doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Concessions will be available for purchase.
Johnsons Island Civil War Roundtable meets
Larry Lucius will discuss The Kansas-Missouri Border War which was a series of violent civil confrontations that took place in the Kansas Territory and western Missouri between 1854 and 1859. It was a difference of opinion regarding slavery and involved proslavery “border ruffians” and retaliatory raids of antislavery “free-staters,” John Brown was one of the ”free-staters.”
It has been called a Tragic Prelude, or an overture, to the American Civil War.
Lucius will present to the Johnsons Island Civil War Roundtable, Oct. 22 at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 131 E. Perry St., Tiffin.

VA opens outpatient clinic in Findlay
VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System has announced the location of a new Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) at 1720 E. Melrose Ave., Findlay.
The nearly 7,000 square foot clinic will serve veterans in Hancock and surrounding counties in Ohio and will provide primary care, mental health, and blood draw services to more than 9,000 eligible veterans.
The clinic will open in early summer 2024, once the $2 million in renovations are complete.
