Otsego’s Jackson qualifies for state golf meet

FINDLAY — Otsego senior golfer Elizabeth Jackson shot an 41-44–85 at the Division II girls district golf tournament at Sycamore Springs Golf Course on Monday to qualify as an individual to the state golf meet.

The two day, 36-hole D-II state meet is scheduled for October 13-14 at the Ohio State University Gray Course.

For Otsego coach Nathan Luce, Jackson is the captain of the team, the only senior, and a three-time Northern Buckeye Conference Player-of-the-Year.

She holds the school record in every individual category except one (low 18-hole average), which is held by her older sister, Olivia Jackson.

Her nine-hole average this season is 41.8. Her low nine-hole score is 37, shot at the sectional tournament, and her 18-hole average this season is 83. Her low eighteen-hole score is 76, also shot at the sectional tournament at Ironwood Golf Course in Wauseon.

“She is an avid golfer, playing all off season and regularly participating in the TJGA (Toledo Junior Golf Association),” said Luce. “She is a top student at Otsego, and she is a great teammate.”
