Lake’s Wagner, Eastwood’s Hoy first team golfers

CLYDE — After the Northern Buckeye Conference boys golf tournament at Green Hills Golf Course Tuesday, Genoa came away with the league championship with 46 points.

Maumee (43) was second, followed by Lake (32), Eastwood (31), Otsego (27), Oak Harbor (17), and Rossford (14).

Genoa’s Jon Huston is NBC Player of the Year with a 35.8 nine-hole average and joining him on the first team are Lake golfer Ryan Wagner (38.7), Genoa golfer Isaac Eversen (40.5), Eastwood golfer Daryn Hoy (41.6), Maumee golfer Travis Moebuis (42.3), and Maumee golfer Keaton McCullough (42.5).

Second team selections are Colby Ralson, Genoa (42.6); Caleb Klatt, Genoa (42.4); Wes Kellermeier, Otsego (42.9); Alex Large, Genoa (42.3); Jake Storey, Maumee (43.7), and Parker Bengry, Eastwood (43.5).

HM selections are Cooper Heckman, Lake (44.4); Zak Morris, Maumee (45.9); Vinny Pasty, Genoa (45.1), Caylob Lepper, Maumee (44.1); Easton Speck, Eastwood (47); and Tommy Makowski, Otsego (46).

Huston was medalist at three of the four shootouts, shooting a 35 at Cross Winds Golf Course and a 35 at Heatherdowns Golf Course.

Huston was also medalist at the league tournament in Clyde, shooting a 70 to defeat Hoy, who was second at eight strokes back with a 78.

Ewerson was medalist at Maumee Bay State Park Golf Course, shooting a 37, and Wagner was medalist at Lakeland Golf Course, shooting a 35.

At the league tournament, Genoa shot a team score of 319, followed by Maumee (346), Eastwood (356), Otsego (364), Lake (384), Rossford (423), Oak Harbor (434) and Fostoria had three golfers, but did not generate a team score.

Eastwood golfers were Hoy (42-36—78), Speck (47-43—90), Jackson Schuerman (50-43—93), Bengry (46-49—95), Andre Lantigua (54-49—103) and Casen Henline (59-61—120).

Otsego golfers were Kellermeier (41-46—87), Makowski (48-42—90), Brandan Hilyard (46-45—91), Trey Studer (51-45—96), Drew Gase (51-48—99), and Jeremy Easton (54-55—109).

Lake golfers were Wagner (44-41—85), Heckman (53-45—98), Will Perry (47-52—99), Ryan Scotton (51-51—102), Brayden Steinhurst (54-49—103), and Zach Stuart (55-51—106).

Rossford golfers were Quintan Borden (49-51—100), Blake Odenweller (51-49—100), Keegan Johnson (55-56-111), Max Henderson (54-58—112), Christian Peyton (64-51—115), and Rylin Westover (63-69—132).
