A Toledo man on a motorcycle was arrested Saturday morning after he drove on a road closed for the Black Swamp Arts Festival.

At 1:46 a.m., Bowling Green police observed a motorcycle driving westbound on East Wooster Street then turn northbound onto North Main Street via the handicap accessible entrance since the road was closed and barricaded for the festival. The motorcyclist stopped at East Court Street.

The officers, in a golf cart, stopped just in front of the motorcycle. After being asked what he was doing, the operator attempted to accelerate away, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

One officer grabbed the handles of the motorcycle. It fell on its side, striking the officer in the knee, according to the report.

The driver attempted to pick the motorcycle up and leave, at which time officers grabbed him from the motorcycle.

The driver was identified as Jaiden Tyler, 22.

Officers observed he had glassy and bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol. While officers were conducting field sobriety tests, dispatch advised the BMW motorcycle had been stolen in Michigan, according to the report.

Tyler said he has recently purchased the motorcycle on Facebook Marketplace and the seller would be emailing him the title.

He submitted a breath test at the police station.

Tyler was arrested for driving on a closed highway, driving under suspension, OVI, BAC (0.136), failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, and receiving stolen property.

He was taken to jail, where he remained Monday with a $55,000 bond.
