Perrysburg recognizes award-winning students, receives Best Hometown award

PERRYSBURG — The city is holding a do-over of June events that were canceled due to air quality.

On Thursday at 5:30 p.m on the Commodore Schoolyard Lawn, special recognition will be given by Mayor Tom Mackin to gold medal student-athletes Marcus Blaze and Mazie Zepeda. Ellie Garst will already be at college.

At 5:45 p.m., the Best Hometown will be awarded by Ohio Magazine.

From 6-7:30 p.m., Lettuce Turnip the Beet, symphony edition, will perform. Bring your own chair/blanket and join us for some incredible music from classical to popular tunes.

A snacks/drink booth will be nearby (while supplies last) of cold lemonade and special cookies made by Emmy Lou’s Cookie Co.
