Hudak leads Falcons at Sage Run

BARK RIVER, Mich. — The Bowling Green men’s golf team opened their fall schedule by competing in the Island Resort Intercollegiate, which was hosted by South Dakota State.

As a team, the Falcons posted a score of 871, finishing 10th for the field. The event was held at the Sage Run Golf Club, a Par-72, 7,375-yard course.

Individually, Darin Hudak paced the Falcons by logging a score of 212 (72-69-71), finishing tied for No. 17 in the field of 76 golfers.

Connor Gdovin shot a 216 (70-74-72) to tie for No. 19. Tom Bell came in tied for 59 with a 224 (68-78-78) and Dylan Fitchet came in tied for No. 61 with a 225 (72-76-77).

Brandon Rattray rounds out the BGSU lineup tied for No. 67 with a 227 (77-75-75). Ethan Irvine competed as an individual and finished No. 76 with a 239 (75-85-79).

“We had a really nice start to the tournament but did not have enough depth in our scoring to keep up with the leaders,” BGSU coach John Powers said.

“Darin had a very good week to finish top 20 in a very strong field. Connor was also quite steady out there for all three rounds.”

The Falcons return to action Sept. 9-10 at Ball State’s Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational.
