Pee Wee Dari Snak closes – this time for good

STONY RIDGE — Pee Wee Dari Snak is closing, and this time it may be permanent.

Rusty Waters said Friday the restaurant will close today after being in business for 60 years.

“For now, we’re undecided but it could be for good,” he said.

His son, Trent, who runs the business, found employment elsewhere, Waters said.

He said it was likely the family would put it up for sale.

“It’s a heartbreaker for me” Waters said about closing the business.

He cooks the sauces and soups. Trent manages the books, inventory and management duties.

In the fall of 2018, Maxine Haas hung up her apron and retired after more than 50 years in the business.

That’s when her son, Rusty, and grandson, Trent, took over.

Haas celebrated her 90th birthday in March with the season opening of the restaurant.
