BG Kiwanis host cornhole tournament

B. G. Kiwanis President Mike Shertzer has announced that the club is hosting a cornhole tournament on Sept. 17 at Wooster Green (corner of Church Street and Wooster Street).

The event will begin at 1 p.m.

A two-person team will compete against other teams within their division. Four divisions have been designated – Businesses, Civic Groups, BGSU Campus Life, and Community. A $25 donation for each team is being requested to participate.

Each division will compete for their own trophy.

This event is being hosted by B. G. Kiwanis to support the Grandparent’s Raising Grandchildren Christmas Project. The funds will go directly to assist in purchasing presents for grandparents who are raising their grandchildren and have little or no extra money to provide Christmas gifts for their grandchildren. The program is managed by the Wood County Community on Aging, who has also partnered with B. G. Kiwanis on this tournament.

Preregistration is strongly encouraged – registration access and payment (Venmo) can be found on the Wood County Community on Aging website, or you may register with a Kiwanian member or stop into the B.G. Senior Center and the program personnel will assist you.

Also partnering with the B.G. Kiwanis group is BGSU as they will be providing the number of cornhole boards and bags needed.

Several food trucks will be available to purchase food and drinks; they will be located in the parking lot directly behind the Presbyterian Church on South Grove Street.
