Wood County weekly construction update

The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Wood County next week. All work is weather permitting.

Interstate 75, between Buck Road and Monroe Street, Toledo/Rossford/Northwood, may have occasional lane restrictions for finish work related to a reconstruction project. Estimated completion: Fall 2023.

I-75 and the AW Trail/SR 25 near downtown will experience overnight lane restrictions for the installation of structure paint scaffolding, painting, and scaffolding removal upon completion. Ramp closures are possible overnight, 8 p.m.-6 a.m. through August. Independent ramp closures will not be announced.

UPCOMING IMPACTS

Northbound I-75 had a traffic switch today.

Following the traffic switch, traffic will be following a new alignment. Motorists are advised to use caution during an adaptation period.

Wales Road on-ramp to northbound I-75 is closed for pavement tie-ins through Sunday at 4 p.m. Detour: Buck Road.

Northbound I-75 exit to Downtown (exit 201B) will be closed for bridge deck repairs starting on Friday, August 25 at 7 p.m. until Wednesday, August 30 at 7 p.m.

During this time, northbound I-75 will be reduced to one 11-foot lane.

Two lanes are expected to be restored this evening, but work will continue until Wednesday morning, August 30.

South Avenue on-ramp to northbound-I-75 will also be closed Friday night, August 25, into Saturday afternoon.

Lime City Road over Interstate 75, Rossford, is reduced to one lane controlled by a temporary traffic signal following a strike from an over-height load which damaged the bridge. Traffic will remain in this pattern for several months.

Interstate 280, between Starr Avenue and Manhattan Boulevard, and ramps to/from I-280, will experience daytime closures for bridge inspections beginning Monday, through Wednesday.

Interstate 475, between Ohio 25 and Ohio 65, will be reduced to one lane each weekend during the month of September for pavement repairs. Restrictions will be in effect beginning Fridays at 9 p.m. through Monday mornings at 6 a.m.

U.S. 20, between I-75 and Simmons Road, Perrysburg/Rossford, will experience lane restrictions and closures for installation of a turn lane.

Ohio 18, between Bloomdale and Hancock County line, and in Bloomdale, work is complete pending final inspection.

Ohio 25, between Cygnet Road and U.S. 6, Bowling Green/Portage, is open to through traffic. Lane restrictions are possible for final surface course application north of Portage, and for finish work throughout the project.

Ohio 64, from I-75 to Mercer Road, Bowling Green, is restricted to one lane in each direction during construction of a roundabout at Campbell Hill Road. Work is being performed on behalf of the city of Bowling Green and will continue until late summer.

Westbound Ohio 105, between North Dunbridge and Carter roads, will be closed for installation of a turn lane through September. Work performed under permit. Detour: Dunbridge Road to Poe Road to Carter Road

Ohio 281, between Liberty Hi and Mitchell Road, Rudolph, is closed for a bridge replacement over the North Branch Portage River through September. Detour will initially be Ohio 65 to U.S. 6 to Ohio 199 due to closure of Ohio 235 at Sand Ridge Road, but will be adjusted once Route 235 reopens.

Various routes in the county will be restricted through the work zone for installation of pavement markings. Estimated completion: November 2023.

Various routes in Wood County may be restricted at times for a sign replacement project. Estimated completion: early August.
