Thayer goes to the dogs

Thayer Chevrolet’s annual Dog Days of Summer event is set for today from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the dealership, 1225 N. Main St., in the parking lot and showroom.

Dog Days of Summer is centered around dog ownership, adoptions and fun.

People are invited to bring their dogs, meet dog-oriented vendors, and get lots of free pup treats and swag. A splash pad or pool will be available to keep the dogs cool.

Dogs will be available for adoption.

There is also food, including hot dogs, available for their human owners. The event is rain or shine.

Miller talks politics with Kiwanis Club

The Bowling Green Kiwanis Club will meet Thursday at noon at the Slater Family Ice Arena Lounge on the campus of Bowling Green State University.

A lunch will be available starting at 11:30 a.m..

Melissa Miller, professor of political science at Bowling Green State University, will talk about the story behind “Trailblazing Women In Ohio Politics.”

Meet local romance authors and learn how to get published at Romance: Read It, Write It, Love It!

The Wood County District Public Library will host this exciting author fair in partnership with the Maumee Valley Romance Authors Inc. on Aug. 12 at 11 a.m. in Meeting Room A&B at the library, 251 N. Main St.

Authors from the Maumee Valley Romance Authors Inc. will talk about their work, how to get published, and more. Authors currently include Susana Ellis, Kristina Knight, Shay Lacy, Denise Lynn, Constance Phillips and Patricia A. Rasey.
