This fall, the Bowling Green State University mens and womens cross country teams will compete in five regular season meets, including two at home, before hosting the 2023 Mid-American Conference Cross Country Championships.

Both home regular season meets, as well as the MAC Championships, will be raced on the Mel Brodt Cross Country Course.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to host four meets on the BG cross country course this fall,” BGSU coach Lou Snelling said. “This will allow us to showcase our teams and the course itself while providing a positive impact to Bowling Green State University and the local economy.

“With the MAC Championships specifically, they’re always special moments for us. Hosting one elevates the experience and gives our Falcons the opportunity to make lifetime sorts of memories,” Snelling continued.

“We have a great track record of overachieving in these moments, which is testament to our Student-Athletes. All in all, we will have close to 30 collegiate teams and over 1,000 high school athletes visit Bowling Green this fall to take advantage of one of the best cross country courses in the Great Lakes Region.”

The Falcons open the 2023 campaign on Friday, Sept. 1, competing at the Akron Invite. The races will be held at Silver Creek Metro Park in Akron.

The season continues at home on Friday, Sept. 15, with the Mel Brodt Collegiate Open. The Falcons will race on their home course, with the men starting at 5:30 p.m. and the women starting at 6:05 p.m.
