BG chamber will hold cybersecurity presentation

The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Business Council Project Team will hold a Learn Network Grow – Lunch Bite Programming opportunity for June 15 at noon at the chamber office at 217 S. Church St.

The program, which is open to all chamber investors, will be a collaborative presentation with Nate Bernath – William Vaughan Company, Greg Esposito – InTech IT Solutions and Matt Karaffa – First Insurance Group.

They will talk about how to understand cyberinsurance, what cyberthreats could put a business at risk and how to be proactive in protecting businesses assets.

Topics to be covered will be password attacks, phishing, security awareness training and the Internet of Things such as smart homes, wearables and industrial sensors, check security, identity theft, cloud application and data storage virtual private networks. The topic of cybersecurity insurance will also be discussed.

Esposito, president and principal owner of Intech IT Solutions has over 30 years’ experience in the information technology area. He has expertise in IT infrastructure design, computer hardware design, IT integration and several other areas of IT as well as executive management. Esposito prides himself on keeping up to date and compliant in hardware, software, and cybersecurity.

Karaffa has been in the financial services industry since 2010 and is a licensed insurance agent that specializes in property and casualty for both personal and commercial lines. His industry knowledge covers several areas of practice and Karaffa takes the time to listen and understand his client’s business goals and execute a risk management strategy.

Bernath, CPA partner with William Vaughan Company has over 16 years’ experience advising businesses on complex tax matters. Known for his practical approach, Bernath’s chief objective is helping his clients stay compliant while seeking opportunities to maximize their tax benefits. He also maintains an in-depth knowledge and understanding of tax laws relating to cost segregation and research and development credits. In addition to his role in the tax practice, Bernath leads the firm’s Bowling Green office where he drives measurable results and growth within the organization.
