Badenhop keeps Eastwood rolling at 23-0

PEMBERVILLE — Andrew Badenhop pitched a complete-game three-hit shutout as Eastwood defeated Otsego, 7-0, in Northern Buckeye Conference baseball Wednesday.

Badenhop struck out seven, walked three, and threw 102 pitches over seven innings, including 64 strikes while facing 29 batters.

The Eagles, ranked No. 1 in the Division III state coaches’ poll, stay unbeaten at 23-0 and at 13-0 in the league, they have already clinched an outright NBC championship.

Eastwood got off to a quick start at the plate, scoring two runs in the first and two in the second, and then added two more in the fifth and a run in the sixth.

Jackson Bauer led Eastwood, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, Colton Woodward was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, and Kadyn Donnell was 2-for-3.

Tristan Schuerman, Badenhop, and Isaac Reynolds had base hits for the Eagles, and Schuerman and Bauer had stolen bases.

Getting base hits for the Knights were Cohen Feehan, Tyler O’Brien, and Jaxon Jeremy. Jeremy and Chase Lorenz reached base after getting hit by a pitch.

Feehan started on the mound, striking out five, walking two, allowing nine hits and six runs through five innings, but only four runs were earned because of three Otsego errors.

Tucker Hunsberger closed for Otsego, facing four batters, allowing a hit and an unearned run.
