A Perrysburg man who failed to appear for sentencing on pandering charges is in jail.

When Mark Amendola, 61, failed to appear May 2, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He was transported from the jail Monday to the courtroom of Wood County Common Pleas Judge Matt Reger.

Amendola was indicted in November for four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, all second-degree felonies.

He pleaded guilty in March to one count of pandering.

Amendola acknowledged creating, reproducing or publishing obscene material that had a minor as one of its participants or observers on July 30.

Defense attorney Christopher Lawrence said his client went into the hospital on May 2 around 3 a.m. and was discharged around noon.

Amendola has been in constant contact with the public defenders’ office, he said.

Reger set bond at $30,000, with no 10%.

Amendola will be sentenced on May 16.

Jacob Bear, 27, North Baltimore, was arraigned Monday and pleaded not guilty to eight drug charges.

He was indicted earlier this month for aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs, both second-degree felonies; two counts aggravated trafficking in drugs and two counts possession of drugs, both third-degree felonies; aggravating trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony; and aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

On Jan. 27, 2022, Bear was allegedly found in possession of and prepared for distribution more than the bulk amount of methamphetamine. On Feb. 1, 2022, he was allegedly found in possession of and prepared for distribution more than the bulk amount of methamphetamine. On May 12, 2022, he was found in possession of and allegedly prepared for distribution less than the bulk amount of methamphetamine. On Dec. 7 he was found in possession of and allegedly preparing for distribution more than five times the bulk amount of methamphetamine.

Defense attorney Sara Roller asked for an own recognizance bond to allow her client, who had been transported from the jail, to begin inpatient treatment at Arrowhead Behavioral Health in Maumee.

Reger rejected the request and set bond at $30,000, no 10%.

Baer’s next court date is May 30.

Jason Bohner, 40, Rossford, appeared Monday in Reger’s courtroom for a community control violation bond hearing.

In December 2021, he had been sentenced to three years of community control after being found guilty of possession of a fentanyl-related compound.

On April 22, he was arrested in Lucas County for identity fraud.

Lawrence asked for an OR bond with an ankle monitor.

Reger rejected the request and set bond at $30,000, no 10%.

Bohner’s community control violation hearing was set for May 30.
