BGSU women’s golf adds 2 transfers to the 2023-24 roster

The Bowling Green State University women’s golf team has added two transfers to the 2023-24 roster, as head coach Erin Fahey announced on Monday.

BGSU welcomes Makenna Jones (Cincinnati) and Ava O’Sullivan (Converse) to the Falcon women’s golf program.

Jones (Lewisburg, Ohio) spent three seasons at Cincinnati and will have two years of eligibility with the Falcons. She appeared in 10 total events while at Cincinnati, including four this past season. During the 2021-22 season she posted a season-best score of 238 at both the Rocket Classic and Babs Steffens Invitational.This most recent year she posted a season-best 234 at the Babs Steffens Invitational.

“I am very excited to welcome Makenna to the Falcon Family,” Fahey said. “Makenna has a well-documented playing history of success at every level. She will be a leader for us both on and off the golf course. Makenna is a true competitor with a fantastic work ethic. We are looking forward to having her compete as a Falcon for the next two years.”

O’Sullivan (Exton, Pennsylvania) hails from Converse, a NCAA DII university in Spartanburg, S.C. O’Sullivan will have three years of eligibility with the Falcons. She won two tournaments during her freshman campaign at Converse, including her last time out at the Converse Spring Invitational. O’Sullivan became the first player to earn five Conference Carolinas Golfer of the Week awards in a single calendar year since the Conference moved to weekly honors for golfers. Three times O’Sullivan was named Freshman Golfer of the Month by Conference Carolinas.

“I am very excited to welcome Ava to the Falcon Family,” Fahey said. “Ava is a dynamic player and has proven that she can compete at every level. She has a deep passion for the game of golf and is a proven competitor. We are looking forward to having her join us this upcoming fall.”
