A Jerry City man has been arrested for felonious assault.
Bowling Green police responded to the 300 block of Colony Lane Monday just before 7:30 p.m. for a report of an altercation.
The alleged victim said he was strangled by David Lee Weaver, 19, and also thought he broke his hand.
Weaver told police they would hear from his attorney on Tuesday and he wasn’t coming back to Bowling Green, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.
The alleged victim was taken to the hospital.
BGPD police and Wood County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to Weaver’s residence to speak with him at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday.
He told police he and the alleged victim had been in several altercations during the years they had known each other, according to the report.
He said he pushed the alleged victim into a wall twice but never hit him.
Weaver was charged with felonious assault and menacing and was taken to jail.
