2 BG residents cited for assault

Two Bowling Green residents have been cited for assault in two different incidents.

On Sunday at 1:16 p.m., Bowling Green police were told of a physical altercation in the 200 block of South Enterprise Street.

Gavin J. Smith allegedly pushed an unidentified person into a wall, putting a hole in a drywall.

Smith is accused of grabbing this person’s phone and when another man attempted to grab it back, Smith allegedly threw him into a screen door, where he hit his hand on the door piston.

Smith, 20, was cited for assault.

On Sunday at 11:21 p.m., BG police were called to the 300 block of Derby Avenue for a reported assault.

The victim told police that Tiffany Rathburn had hit him in the face several times and split his lip open.

He said Rathburn was yelling at him to see his cell phone to see his text messages and when he refused, she slapped him, according to the police report.

Rathburn, 37, was cited for assault.
