The Wood County Health Department conducted a number of inspections March 20-24.

The following inspections were done March 20.

During a follow-up inspection, 7820 Burger LLC, 7820 Ponderosa Road, Perrysburg, had four non-critical offenses, which were improper storage of food items; non-food contact surfaces not easily cleanable; non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean; and facility floor and walls not maintained clean

Big Daddy’s Sausages and More, 18421 Steen Road, Weston, had one non-critical offense, which was cooking equipment or pan surfaces unclean

The following inspection was done March 21.

During a complaint inspection, Rally’s, 1005 N. Main St., Bowling Green, had two critical and seven non-critical violations.

The March 20 complaint included no safe food handling procedures, no sanitizer buckets, date marks, hand washing was not enforced, and smoking in the storage area.

The inspector found some cause for complaint. There were no sanitizer buckets set up at time of inspection (person in charge stated he just dumped them out.) There also was improper cooling and the hand washing sink was not functioning per code.

Critical violations were improper reheating of food for hot holding; and temperature-controlled foods not being cold held at the proper temperature. Both were corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were facility does not have an employee with manager certification in food protection (repeat); employee eating, drinking, or using tobacco in non-designated area (corrected during inspection); handwashing sink water below 100°F; no towels or drying device at the handwashing sink(s); improper storage of cleaned equipment, utensils, and laundered linens; fixed equipment not properly sealed or spaced for cleaning; and physical facilities not maintained in good repair (repeat).

The following inspections were done March 22.

Pilot Travel Center, 3484 Libbey Road, Perrysburg, had two non-critical offenses, which were facility not maintained clean; and physical facilities not maintained in good repair.

Bob Evans Restaurants LLC, 1726 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green, had two critical and three non-critical offenses.

Critical were quaternary ammonium sanitizing solution at incorrect temperature, concentration, and/or water hardness; and improper storage of poisonous or toxic materials. Both were corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were food employee(s) not wearing a hair restraint; non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean; and physical facilities not maintained in good repair. All three were repeat offenses.

Insomnia Cookies, 143 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green, had one critical and one non-critical offense.

Critical was employees are not informed in a verifiable manner of their responsibility to report information about their health (repeat).

Non-critical was retail food establishment does not comply with Level One Certification requirements.

Inspirations Early Learning Center, 200 E. Second St., Perrysburg, had one critical offense, which was food not properly protected from contamination by separation, packaging, and segregation. It was corrected during inspection.

McDonald’s, 3430 Libbey Road, Perrysburg, had one critical and two non-critical offenses.

Critical was improper storage of poisonous or toxic materials. It was corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were non-food contact surface(s) not cleaned at the required frequency (repeat); and facility not maintained clean (repeat).

Get Inspired Nutrition, 157 N. Main St., Bowling Green, had two non-critical offenses, which were improper storage of food items; and equipment not approved by a recognized testing agency.

Dunkin Donuts/Shree Donuts Inc., 26555 N. Dixie Hwy., Perrysburg, had two critical and two non-critical offenses.

Critical were temperature-controlled foods not being cold held at the proper temperature; and improper storage of poisonous or toxic materials. Both were corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were food employee(s) not wearing a hair restraint (repeat); and dressing rooms or lockers not being properly used (corrected during inspection).

Panera Bread, 1540 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green, had three critical and three non-critical violations.

Critical were written procedures and plans are not maintained and implemented; equipment and utensils contacting temperature-controlled food not cleaned every four hours; and temperature-controlled foods not being cold held at the proper temperature. All were corrected during inspection.

Non-critical were no written procedures for time as a public health control for creamers on self-service beverage bar; improper storage of food items; and non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean (repeat).

Shokudo Kitchen, 27072 Carronade Drive, Perrysburg, had four critical and seven non-critical violations.

Critical were food employee(s) did not wash hands when required; equipment food-contact surfaces or utensils are unclean (repeat); chlorine sanitizing solution at incorrect temperature and/or concentration (corrected during inspection); and refrigerated, ready-to-eat, temperature-controlled foods not properly date marked (repeat, corrected during inspection).

Non-critical were temperature-controlled foods not properly thawed; working food containers not properly labeled (repeat); non-durable equipment observed; non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean (repeat); unnecessary or nonfunctional items and/or litter on premises (repeat); facility not maintained clean; and physical facilities not maintained in good repair.

Big Lots, 9880 Olde U.S. 20 (Fremont Pike), Rossford, had one non-critical offense, which was damaged, spoiled, and/or recalled products not segregated from food, equipment, utensils, linens, and single-service and single-use articles. It was corrected during inspection.

The following inspection was done March 23.

Dollar Tree Store, 1040 N. Main St., Bowling Green, had two non-critical offenses, which were outer opening not protected; and damaged, spoiled, and/or recalled products not segregated from food, equipment, utensils, linens, and single-service and single-use articles.

The following inspections were done March 24.

Dollar General Store, 1470 Woodville Road, Millbury, had one critical offense, which was improper storage of poisonous or toxic materials (repeat, corrected during inspection).

During a follow-up inspection, Subway, 3310 Woodville Road, Northwood, had one non-critical offense, which was non-food contact surfaces of equipment are unclean.

Aldi Inc., 1010 S. Main St., Bowling Green, had two critical and one non-critical offense.

Critical were food package(s) received in poor condition (repeat); and food not properly protected from contamination by separation, packaging, and segregation. Both were corrected during inspection.

Non-critical was waste receptacles not covered properly (repeat).

During a follow-up inspection, Staybridge Suites, 9749 Clark Drive, Rossford, had two non-critical offenses, which were facility does not have an employee with manager certification in food protection; and equipment components are not intact, tight or properly adjusted.

Zero violations were found at BGSU Stadium Trailer, 1610 Stadium Drive; Wal-Mart, 10392 Fremont Pike, Perrysburg; Iron Bean Coffee Company, 25561 Fort Meigs Road, Perrysburg; True North, 933 W. Boundary St., Perrysburg; Poppin’ George of Wood County, 27525 Luckey Road, Walbridge; Poppin’ George of Wood County 1, 27525 Luckey Road, Walbridge; and Gabe’s, 27386 Carronade Drive, Perrysburg.
