NORMAL, Ill. – The Bowling Green Falcons finished second in a tri-meet at Illinois State with Centenary on Friday night, inside CEFCU Arena.

Illinois State took the meet with its best team score of the year at 195.2. BGSU tallied a 192.65 and Centenary finished third with a 186.2.

The event started 30 minutes late after the bars had to be repaired in the warmup. Taylor Jensen led BGSU with a 38.95 in the all-around, which placed third for the meet. Jenson also had the best BGSU score on bars with a 9.8.

BGSU started on beam and Kathryn Weilbacher fell on her landing. Out of precaution, she did not compete in any of the remaining rotations and the Falcons did a tremendous job adjusting the lineup on the fly. Due to Weilbacher being sidelined, only five Falcons competed on vault.

Dahlia Solorzano-Caruso had a PR on the bars at 9.775. Lauren Bannister had a PR on floor with a 9.675. Lexi Bornhorn made her season debut on bars and had a PR with 9.775.

Bowling Green is next in action on Sat., Feb. 11 when BGSU returns home to host Kent State at the Stroh Center. The meet starts at 4 p.m.
