PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Bowling Green State University baseball wrapped up their non-conference schedule against No. 21 Rutgers on Saturday.
The Falcons tallied one run in the game, coming on a Jack Krause single after both Kyle Gurney and Adam Furnas drew walks. The Rutgers offense showed strong, putting up 21 runs.
Rutgers’ first runs came in the first inning with three crossing home to take a 3-0 advantage.
BGSU held the Scarlet Knights scoreless for two innings before a solo home run began the fourth inning to push the Rutgers lead to 4-0.
An RBI double and two-run home run in the fifth inning extended the Rutgers lead to 7-0.
A solo home run in the sixth pushed the Scarlet Knight lead to 8-0.
In the top of the seventh, Kyle Gurney and Adam Furnas drew back-to-back walks before Jack Krause singled through the right side to score Gurney and tally BGSU’s run, making it 8-1.
The bottom half of the inning saw Rutgers score 10 to extend the score to 18-1.
The final runs of the game scored in the eighth inning for the 21-1 final.
