Tea & talk series: Ashtabula County Infirmary: Through Tragedy and Triumph

The Wood County Historical Society welcomes Mariana Branch, from Kingsville Public Library in Ashtabula
County, as the guest speaker for the July Tea & Talk Series on July 11 from 2-4 p.m., at the
Wood County Historical Center & Museum, 13660 County Home Road.
The July Tea & Talk Series will cover the story of Ashtabula County’s Infirmary and how for over
125 years, this model institution cared for residents with Western Reserve morality. The intimate story
of resident “Penny Billy” will be shared along with the handmade necktie quilt made in his honor.
Mariana Branch has a degree in Archaeology from Kent State University. Branch is director of the
Kingsville Public Library in Kingsville.

woodcountyhistory.org. Admission is $23 for adults and $18 for Wood County Historical Society members.
Admission includes tea, light refreshments, and the program. The museum is open for self-guided tours.
The museum is handicap accessible.
This program is part of a monthly tea series hosted by the Wood County Historical Society. The July Tea
