Helen Louise Kuyon Simon, 94, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away Friday July 5, 2019.
She was born September 25, 1924 in Aurora, Ohio to the late George and Mary (Kiss) Kuyon. She married
Frank Simon June 6, 1942 and he preceded her in death September 28, 1998.
Helen worked as the head cook for Aurora Schools for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic
Church in Mantua, Ohio and Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Pine Island, Florida. She enjoyed
her many friends at Wood Haven and loved all of the staff, especially those in the activities
department.
She is survived by her daughters Carol Velek of Mantua, Ohio and Susan (Mark) Carpenter of Bowling Green,
Ohio, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Richard Velek and siblings Joseph Keyon, John Keyon, Steve
Kuyon, George Kuyon, Frank Kuyon, Louie Kuyon, William Kuyon, Dorothy Zugan and Mary Kovolyan and one
great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be given in her memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or Wood Haven Health
Care- Activities Department.
Burial will take place at Coral Ridge Cemetery in Cape Coral, Florida. Local arrangements have been
entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home in Bowling Green.
