‘Day of the Dead’ play presented at St. Aloysius
"La Conexión de Wood County" will present the play "Day of the Dead" Sunday, All
Souls Day, at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary  St. Aloysius Church in Bowling Green.
Directed by Jo Beth Gonzalez, the play explains Mexican Day of the Dead celebrations through the
experience of participants of different ages.
Dallas Black will direct music performed by  students from La Comunidad, Bowling Green State University’s
Spanish learning community .
Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. Students from BGSU Latino Student Union will be doing face painting.
BGSU flute quartet to present free recital
Music for four flutes will be featured in a free recital by the Quinox Flute Quartet Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
at Trinity United Methodist Church, 200 N. Summit St.
The performers – Marissa Denise LoNigro of Denver, Charles Edward Gibb of Minneapolis, Jacqueline Anne
Berndt of Miami, and Octavian Moldovean of Romania – are first year graduate students pursuing their
Masters of Music Performance degrees. They study with Conor Robert Nelson.
The program will consist of works by Jacques Castérède, Eugène Bozza, Friedrich Kuhlau, and Pierre Max
Dubois.

Award-winning country singer brings band to Grumpy Dave’s
Conway Turley, recently named the Independent Country Music Association’s Best Musician award, will bring
his band River Rock for a show at  Grumpy Dave’s, 104 S. Main St., Bowling Green, Saturday from 9 p.m.
to 2 a.m.
Led by Turley the band plays its own brand of classic and modern country.
Turley, as an 8-year-old in 2001, won Star Search. Turley is lead singer and guitarist with River Rock. 
He also plays banjo, pedal steel guitar, drums, and piano.
The band, features honky-tonk pianist, Brandon Crawford, with country journeymen, Dave Efries on bass,
and Tim Isaacs on drums. All contribute to the band’s four-part harmonies.
In its one year of existence the band has played throughout the region and works as house band at the
Blazing Saddles Saloon in Columbus..
Sanders shows photographs
PERRYSBURG – The photography of Thomas Sanders, of Bowling Green, are now on exhibit at Starbucks at
Levis Commons.
The exhibit "Windows to the World" sponsored by PRIZM Creative Community  includes images from
Sanders’ recent trip to Iceland as well as images from the Pacific Northwest and New England.
It will remain on exhibit through the end of November.
