Weston church looks at human sexuality

WESTON – This Sunday at Sonlight Assembly of God, Pastor Chris Boggs says they will attempt to address
human sexuality and the rapid changes that seems to be occurring in America.
"Gay marriage is constantly in the news and this week World Vision, one of the nation’s premier
Christian relief organizations, changed its long-standing policy to permit the employment of gay married
couples," said Boggs. "The decision lasted only two days before World Vision received a fire
storm of protests from Christian organizations that give financial support."
The organization was forced to reverse itself. The result was more fodder for those who believe
Christians organizations hate homosexuals.
The pastor notes, "As followers of Christ, hate is not an option toward any group of people,
regardless of their religious views, race, or sexual orientation. But it’s time to have the conversation
so that our response to the issues before us are not only biblical, but Christ-like."
Boggs thus has invited Josh Pleasance to speak at the church’s 10 a.m. worship on Sunday. The church is
located at 19920 Sand Ridge Road, Weston.
The pastor says Pleasance was living the gay life as a teenager when he attended a church drama and gave
his life to Christ. He eventually left that lifestyle to become a pastor, husband, and father of three.

Boggs says of Pleasance, "His compassion for those who struggle with sexual issues is obvious and I
believe you will be blessed and challenged to hear his testimony."
The pastor extends an invitation to all to attend the service.
At 6 p.m. Sunday, Boggs is holding a special meeting designed for all males age 16 and older to discuss
"male sexuality, the internet and pornography, and other issues facing the male population."

He especially invites fathers to bring their older sons for "an open and frank conversation about
sex from a biblical perspective."
Again the general public is invited to attend "these special services as we struggle together to
understand our changing culture."
