Three county teams ranked
Three Wood County high school basketball teams are ranked in the initial Associated Press state polls.
Perrysburg’s boys are 10th in Division I with 44 points.
Lake’s boys are ninth in Division II with 47 points, including one first-place vote.
Perrysburg’s girls are 11 in Division I with 27 points.

The Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team is 39th with six points in the USA Today
coaches poll this week.

BGHS boys game Saturday
The Bowling Green Bobcat boys basketball team plays a makeup game at Napoleon on Saturday.
The freshmen game starts at 4:45 p.m. with the junior varsity and varsity to follow.
Otsego-Eastwood boys postponed
LUCKEY – Tonight’s Otsego at Eastwood boys basketball game was postponed because of the weather.
A makeup date hasn’t been announced.
Owens men’s game canceled
The Owens Community College men’s basketball game which was scheduled Tuesday at home against
Mid-Michigan Community College was canceled.
The non-conference game will not be rescheduled.
Fastest kid race planned
The Bowling Green State University track and field team is hold The Fastest Kid in Bowling Green event
Saturday during the team’s home meet in Perry Field House.
All elementary-aged children are invited to run in the untimed 60-meter race during the intermission
break of the BG Opener.
There is no entry fee for children to participate in the event, but admission for parents and spectators
is $3. All participants will receive free admission to the Bowling Green Opener, and each child that
pre-registers is guaranteed a gift.
The race will take place at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Former Falcon invited to East-West Shrine Game
YOUNGSTOWN – Kyle Bryant, a former Bowling Green Falcon who played the last two years at Youngstown
State, has been invited to play in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 18. The game will be played at
Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla.
In his recently concluded senior season, Bryant started and played in 10 contests for the Penguins at
left tackle. He started the first five games of the season before missing two with an injury. He
returned to start the final five contests. In 2012, Bryant played in 11 games with six starts.
Bryant transferred to YSU from Bowling Green in January 2012.
