BGSU football adds 2 early enrollees

Bowling Green State University’s football team has added two early enrollees to the program from the 2017
recruiting class.
Quarterback Jarrett Doege and wide receiver Matthew Wilcox Jr., both three-star recruits according to
247sports.com’s recruiting database, have reported to Bowling Green for the spring semester.
Doege is a 6-foot-2 quarterback from Cooper High School in Lubbock, Texas. He is the brother of wide
receivers coach Seth Doege — a former star quarterback at Texas Tech.
Jarrett Doege threw for 3,363 yards and 33 touchdowns in his senior season.
Wilcox is a 5-10 wide receiver from Wayne High School in Huber Heights.
Wilcox caught 188 passes for 2,525 yards in his prep career.
Wilcox and Jarrett Doege joined a pair of junior college transfers as players from this year’s recruiting
class who have already arrived in Bowling Green.
Wide receiver Datrin Guyton (a three-star recruit) and defensive back Fred Garth (two-star) were
announced as additions last month.
The 6-foot-5-inch Guyton comes to BG from Copiah-Lincoln Community College, where he caught 31 passes for
471 yards and three touchdowns during the 2016 season.
The Manor, Texas, native began his college career at Oregon State.
Garth, a 6-1 corner, comes from Northwest Mississippi Community College. Last season he led the team with
81 tackles and had two interceptions.
Bowling Green’s recruiting class currently ranks second in the Mid-American Conference behind Toledo,
according to 247sports.
The Falcons were ranked third before former Western Michigan coach P.J. Fleck left for Minnesota. Since
then, the Broncos’ class has fallen to fourth.
Bowling Green has not had a class ranked in the top four since Dave Clawson’s 2013 class.
National signing day is Feb. 1.
