Drums corps converge on Doyt Perry Stadium Sunday
The sounds of the stadium aren’t taking the summer off. Bowling Green State University will host Drum
Corps International on Sunday in an “All-Star Review” event that will pit units against one other at
Doyt L. Perry Stadium.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show, which is scheduled to include groups from Kalamazoo,
Michigan and Allentown, Pennsylvania to Atlanta and San Antonio. Even Casper, Wyoming will be
represented.
DCI, which bills itself as “Marching Music’s Major League,” conducts a annual summer tour featuring
dozens of events across the country, culminating in an early-August championship show in Indianapolis.

Steel drum band on stage
MAUMEE — Glass City Steel will perform music from the Caribbean July 1 from 6  to 7:30 p.m. at First
Presbyterian Church of Maumee, 200 E. Broadway St.
The musicians from Toledo School for the Arts play steel pan drums and other percussion instruments to
create the sound of Caribbean steel drum bands.

Tammy & Dan wrap up series
PERRYSBURG — Tammy and Dan Acoustic Duo will wrap up this summer’s Wednesday at Woodland Series July 1 at
noon.
The Tammy and Dan Acoustic Duo brings together a couple of veteran musicians who cover a range of music
including classic rock, soft rock, country and blues with originals by local songwriters mixed in.
