TODAY
Jazz Week begins with a performance by the Chamber Jazz Ensembles at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall of the
Moore Musical Arts Center.
THURSDAY
The jazz faculty with guest artist trombonist Conrad Herwig at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore
Musical Arts Center.
FRIDAY
The Ceramics Department, the School of Art, and with the support of the Ashel and Dorothy Uber Bryan
Residency, present an ARTalk talk with artist Bryan Harper, a ceramics area head coordinator at Indiana
University Southeast, at 3:30 p.m. in room 204 of the Fine Arts Center.  
Brett Leonard, Award-winning film director, music video producer and producer of groundbreaking films,
will give an ARTalk, "Revolution of the Digital Media Lifestyle: New Models on Business and
Creation," at 4:30 p.m. in the Eva Marie Saint Theatre of the Wolfe Center for the Arts. Sponsored
by the Ashel and Dorothy Uber Bryan Residency.
Jazz Lab Band I, directed by David Bixler,  and featuring guest artist trombonist Conrad Herwig, trombone
will perform at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center. Advance tickets are $7  and $3
for students. All tickets day of performance are $10.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY
The Douglas Wayland Chamber Music Competition will be held with the semi-finals beginning Saturday at 9
a.m. and continuing through the afternoon in the Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center.
The finals will begin Sunday at 3 p.m. and continue through the evening in the Bryan Recital Hall of the
Moore Musical Arts Center. For more details visit BGSU.edu/music. 
SATURDAY
The High School Women’s Honor Chorus will give a concert that is the culmination of a daylong event for
exceptional high school singers at 4 p.m. in Kobacker Hall.
Current and prospective art students will want to get a glimpse of the future in the upcoming ARTalk
where BGSU will host three professionals in a panel discussion on futures facing graduates at 4 p.m. in
the Eva Marie Saint Theatre.
The BFA Senior Thesis has its opening reception at 7 p.m. in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery Foyer. The
exhibit will continue through April 4.  
SUNDAY
Sunday Matinees at the Gish presents a dual screening of "Bimbo’s Initiation" and "White
Zombie" at 3 p.m. in BGSU’s Gish Film Theater in Hanna Hall.  "Bimbo’s Initiation" is an
eight-minute silent cartoon by Max Fleischer. The second film features actors Bela Lugosi, Madge Bellamy
and John Harron and uses light and shadow in a way that gives viewers goose bumps. 
MARCH 23 
The Legends Series presents Brad Clark, professor in the Department of Theatre and Film. He will give a
presentation about his recent work. The presentation begins at 5 p.m. in the Eva Marie Saint Theatre of
the Wolfe Center for the Arts. Free
MARCH 24
Tuesdays at the Gish presents a screening of "Frida" at 7:30 p.m. in  Gish Film Theater in
Hanna Hall Salma Hayek portrays Frida Kahlo (1907-1954), the surrealist painter who became the first
20th century Mexican artist to have work purchased by the Louvre. Often overshadowed by her husband,
muralist Diego Rivera, Kahlo gained international recognition after exhibitions such as the one curated
by Peter Wollen and Laura Mulvey in 1982. With Tony award winner Julie Taymor directing, the film
garnered two Oscars and four Oscar nominations, including one for Hayek (the first for a Latina
actress).
