Falcons to play Tuesday in CIT
Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball team will travel to Saint Francis next Tuesday for the
first round of the CollegeInsiders.com Postseason Tournament.
The Falcons (20-11) were knocked out of the Mid-American Conference tournament by Eastern Michigan in a
second-round game Wednesday.
Saint Francis is 16-15 and finished fifth in the Northeast Conference.
BGSU softball loses
Bowling Green State University’s softball team fell 3-2 at Indiana Thursday.
Indiana put together a three-run fifth inning to take the lead.
Falcon freshmen honored
Bowling Green State University hockey players Mark Friedman, Brandon Hawkins and Nolan Valleau were named
to the All-Rookie team by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
Hawkins leads the team with 14 goals and 14 assists, leading all WCHA freshmen with 28 points.
Friedman lead Bowling Green with 17 assists and Valleau has two goals and 15 assists.
Snowden signs with Ashland
Eastwood High School senior Devin Snowden has signed to continue his athletic career at Ashland
University.
Snowden, a standout in football and track at Eastwood, will continue both sports at Ashland. He will play
defensive back on the football team and be part of the sprint and jumps core with the track team.
BG swim club hosting event
The Bowling Green Swim Club will host the 2015 Swimming Short Course Junior Olympic championships March
13-15.
The event, which will be held at the Bowling Green State University recreation center, will feature 13
BGSC Gators.
BG rifle league
The Bowling Green rifle league posted a 1,368-1,125 win over Fremont on Tuesday.
Dan Altman led Bowling Green with a 289, while Mike Sayen added a 286. Bob Schwiebert (274), Richard
Dittman, (263) and Jerry Milnor (256) rounded out the top five.
