PRIZM ‘Great Escapes’ show opens inside Sam B’s
A reception for the current  PRIZM Creative Community exhibit at the Sam B’s Restaurant Gallery at 163 S.
Main St. in downtown Bowling Green will be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
"Great Escapes"  features a glimpse of exotic locations  and get away resorts in Hawaii, China,
Florida, and Keystone Co, by artists such as Thomas Sanders, J.D. Jensen  and David Ridenour.
Also in the exhibit are: art quilts by Wendy Jenkins; pen and ink drawings by James Corcoran; pottery by
Mary Anne Nicolson; fused glass by Eagleworks Glass; jewelry by Kate Argow; and  mixed media paintings

Perrysburg Chorale presents ‘Music of the Isles’ concert
PERRYSBURG – Perrysburg Chorale will present " Music of the Isles" Sunday at 2 p.m. in First
United Methodist Church 200 West Second St.
Under the direction of Daniel Catalano, "Music of the Isles" is a performance of British,
Irish, Welsh, and Scottish music accompanied by piano and string quartet. Bagpipes will be performed by
Barry Deutch.  Also the premiere of an "Song of the Wandering Aengus," an Irish tone poem by
composer Steven W. Hecking will be performed. The piece is a setting of a poem by William Butler Yeats.
 
Some of the familiar numbers being performed are "Loch Lomond," "Danny Boy,"
"Blue Bells of Scotland," "The Coasts of High Barbary" and "In Flanders
Fields" to honor those who have served in the military.
Lake Township presents Bridge County Bluegrass
MILLBURY – A bluegrass music night will be held Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lake Township
Administration Building, 27975 Cummings Road.
Merv Spencer and Bridge County Bluegrass will perform.
Food, including hot dogs, sloppy Joes, coffee and pop, will be available for purchase.
The concert is sponsored by Friends of Lake Township Parks.
Fiber art entries sought
PERRYSBURG – The fiber577 committee is seeking entries for its Eighth Annual Fiber Show at The 577
Foundation on June 6 and 7.  
The fiber577 exhibition seeks regional and national artists working in fiber and fiber-related mixed
media. Fiber based work includes: felting, art quilts, weaving, wearable, collage, mixed media,
assemblage, sculpture and textiles.
Participating artists will be eligible for monetary awards including Best of Show, 1st through 3rd
places, and the People’s Choice Award. For the fourth year, at the conclusion of the weekend, artists
will have the opportunity to participate in Fabulous Fibers 2015 at Angelwood Gallery in Grand Rapids to
run June 14 through July 19.
This year’s judge is acclaimed fiber artist Brooks Harris Stevens, an associate professor of fibers at
Eastern Michigan University.
Artists may submit up to 3 pieces per $16 non-refundable entry fee. Application deadline is April 17.

Poet leads writers group
PERRYSBURG – Award-winning poet Lorraine Cipriano will be guest facilitator for No Mic Night, the monthly
author support group, March 19 from 7-9 p.m. at the Way Library, 101 E. Indiana Ave.   
The event is co-sponsored by Way Public Library and PRIZM Creative Community.
