Perrysburg troupe holds audition workshop for ‘Shrek’
PERRYSBURG – Perrysburg Musical Theatre Company will be holding an audition workshop for those interested
in auditioning for any principal character in "Shrek the Musical" Feb. 28 at St. Timothy’s
Church, 871 E. Boundary St.
Time slots will be broken into three groups by age: 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Group A (ages 7 to 10); 11:30
a.m. to 2 p.m., Group B (ages 11 to 14), and 2:15 p.m. to 5 p.m., Group C (ages 15 and older). Adults
are encouraged to attend.
During the workshop, participants will be working directly with the entire creative team on material from
the show and will have the opportunity to learn what is expected of each character. Participants also
will receive tips to help them stand out during the actual auditions. Prior to the workshop,
participants are encouraged to watch a recording of the original Broadway cast perform "Shrek the
Musical" on stage.

deadline is Feb. 21. Cost is $20, $35 for two people, $50  for three people and $12 for each additional
person more than three.
Way Library to screen Shirley Temple’s ‘Little Colonel’
PERRYSBURG – "The Little Colonel," starring Shirley Temple and Lionel Barrymore, will be
screened Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. as part of the Reel Talk series at Way Library.
This 1935 film is set in Reconstruction South and has Shirley mending broken ties with her grandfather
(Lionel Barrymore) and mother (Evelyn Venable) who had married a northerner against her father’s wishes.
In between, Shirley argues with cook Hattie McDaniel and does her famous staircase dance with Bill
Robinson.
Jan Wahl, local author and film collector, a will be guest speaker. he will talk about his experience
interviewing Shirley Temple.
Organist to accompany Garbo’s last silent film
PERRYSBURG – Andrew Rogers will present the final Organ Dedication Concert at Zoar Lutheran Church,
Perrysburg  Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.
Rogers will accompany the 1929 silent movie, "The Kiss," Greta Garbo’s last silent film.
Rogers is a Detroit native and the main organist for the Michigan Theatre in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  
The free program is sponsored by the Zoar Foundation.
Waterville Playshop presents ‘Leading Ladies’ in Maumee
MAUMEE – The Waterville Playshop will present the Ken Ludwig comedy "Leading Ladies" Feb. 13
through Feb 15 at The Maumee Indoor Theatre, 601 Conant St.  
Shows are Feb. 13 and 14 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 15 at 2:30 p.m.

Toledo Rep casting ‘Taming of the Shrew’
TOLEDO – Auditions for the Toledo Rep’s  production of William Shakespeare’s "Taming of the
Shrew" by will be held Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. by appointment at 16 Tenth Street theater.
No prepared auditions or previous experience with Shakespeare are necessary. The production includes
roles for three females, six males, and seven to 10 either male or female.
Directed by F. Scott Regan, performances will run two weekends and are slated for April 10-12 and 16-19.
