Way’s Reel Talk series begins with classic comedyPERRYSBURG – Way Public Library will open a new
season of its Reel Talk film series with the 1943 comedy "The More the Merrier" Oct. 10 at 10
a.m.The film finds Bea Arthur sharing a wartime apartment with a young solider played by Joel McCrea. The
millionaire played by Charles Coburn tries to plat matchmaker between the two.Admission is free.
Refreshments are served.’Monuments Men’ focus of talkTOLEDO – Robert Edsel, the author of "The
Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History," will discuss the
legacy of these soldiers and their Hollywood depiction when he appears at the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle
on Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. as part of the museum’s Masters Series.He will also describe the Monuments Men
connection to former Toledo Museum of Art director Otto Wittmann.Wittmann, the TMA director from 1959 to
1976, served as the officer in charge of the Art Looting Investigation Unit’s OSS Washington Office,
traveling to Europe to probe Nazi theft, especially from French Jewish collections.The talk is part of the
Masters Series.Monday Morning Painters exhibit landscapes in FindlayFINDLAY – The Monday Morning Painters, a
casual group of dedicated, professional artists who meet every Monday morning for breakfast and paint in the
open air together, will exhibit their work starting Oct. 9 in Education Center Room 176 on the Owens
Community College, 3200 Bright Road.The exhibit continues through Nov. 22. Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday
8 a.m.to 7 p.m., and Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
