Owens band performs SundayThe Owens Community College Concert Band will perform Broadway tunes and
patriotic numbers at its annual Spring Pops Concert Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in The Owens Concert Band, is
comprised of Owens students and employees and community members.On the program for the free concert will
include a medley of songs by Andrew Lloyd Webber, "Broad Stripe and Bright Stars", "Sea Song
Fantasy", "Songs of Old Kentucky" and a tribute to jazz trumpeter Maynard Ferguson titled
"Maynard Madness."Perrysburg Orchestra hosts guest soprano singing ariasThe Perrysburg Symphony
Orchestra will welcome guest soloist vocalist Carol Dusdieker for its concert Saturday at 3 p.m. in the
Mainstage Theatre in Owens Community College’s Center for the Fine and Performing Arts, Oregon Road in
Perrysburg Township.She will sing, "Tomami a vegheggiar" from "Alcina" by George F.
Handel, "Deh vieni, non tardar" from "Le Nozza de Figaro" by W.A. Mozart and
"Juliette’s Waltz" from "Romeo et Juliette" by Charles Gounod.Dusdieker, of Perrysburg,
is an assistant professor at Heidelberg. She has sung with various opera companies and symphonies throughout
the United States, including Opera Cleveland, Glimmerglass in Cooperstown, N.Y., the Toledo Symphony, and
the Cincinnati Pops.The orchestra will also perform Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony and Rossini’s Overture to
"Semiramide."Tickets are $12, $10 for seniors and free for students and children.An instrument
petting zoo will be held at 2 p.m.20th anniversary show opens at Angelwood GalleryGRAND RAPIDS – Angelwood
Gallery, 24195 Front St., will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a new show "from the heart,"
opening with a reception Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m.The show, which continues through June 9, also marks the
20th anniversary of owner Julie A. Beutler’s professional career as an artist. Her work will be the main
focus of this exhibition including several new lines of pottery, mostly functional. The show will also
feature drawings from her sketchbooks, ceramic jewelry and a small line of photography.There will be new
work also by Tamra Mielke (pastels), Connie Stose Vasbinder (mixed media), Alicia Munk (printmaking/mixed
media), Lonnie Rosenberg (mixed media) and a small selection of pieces by the galleries’ regular
