Bowling Green Philharmonia ready to revel in Ravel SundayThe Bowling Green Philharmonia, directed
by Emily Freeman Brown, will present its Grand Finale Philharmonia Concert Sunday 3 p.m. in Bowling Green
State University’s Kobacker Hall.The program will celebrate the music of Maurice Ravel including his
"Scheherezade" featuring soprano Jennifer Goode Cooper, of the BGSU faculty.The concert opens with
the French composer’s "Alborado del gracioso" and closes with his "Bolero."The
University Choral Society joins the orchestra for Aaron Copland’s "Old American Songs."Rounding
out the concert will be Benjamin Britten’s "Peter Grimes: Four Sea Interludes."Tickets are $10

reuniting for two free concerts this weekend to benefit the Relay for Life of Southern Wood County.The male
a cappella group, which was active on the Bowling Green State University campus from January, 2007 to
September, 2010, will perform Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at St Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 S.
College St. in Bowling Green.The group performed popular songs from many different eras, including hits
like: "In the Still of the Night", "It’s a Blue World",, "You’re a Mean One, Mr.
Grinch", and their own "Cartoon Schmedley."Musical acts to perform at Pemberville’s Higher
GroundPEMBERVILLE – Two groups of musicians will perform Friday from 8 to 11 p.m. at Higher Ground Coffee
Shop 222 E. Front St,From 8 to 10 p.m. Don Pfouts and Sue Belcik from Northwood Ohio will be singing old
favorites accompanied on the keyboard and bass.From 10 to 11 p.m. young artist Ben Vasko, "The
Stairwell" will perform his original music on the acoustic guitar. His first album can be sampled on

Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra, currently in its 63rd year, will perform Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Start High
School.The concert will feature the Concert and Philharmonic orchestras directed by Wasim Hawary and Bob
Mirakian performing works by Holst, Mussorgsky, Brahms, and Dvorak.Also featured will be the winners of the
Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestra’s Concerto Competition: Joanna Peng, cello, Robert Myak, cello, and Cole
Roberson, guitar, playing concertos by Edouard Lalo, Edward Elgar and Antonio Vivaldi.The TSYO currently
serves 200 students from more than 40 schools in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. The concert is
free.Owens Findlay exhibit opensFINDLAY – Art students at Owens Community College’s Findlay-area campus will
show their work in the Spring Student Art Exhibition, "Our Best Yet" in the Library Gallery
opening Monday.Students from Hardin Central Elementary School in Kenton will also display work."An
Evening of the Arts at Owens" will be presented Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. in the library.The exhibit
includes design work and photography. Those exhibiting include: Sarah Marshall, Robert Pryor and Rochelle
Dillow, all of Fostoria, and Ambre Martinez of Bowling Green.
