trumpeter Hugh Masekela performs at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center on the BGSU
Festival Series in conjunction with Jazz Week. Masekela is best known for his 1968 Grammy-nominated single
"Grazing in the Grass," which sold more than four million copies. A free forum begins at 7:15 p.m.

372-8171.THURSDAYRenowned drummer Peter Erskine will perform with members of the jazz faculty at 8 p.m. in
Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center as part of Jazz Week. Erskine has appeared on more than
600 recordings and has performed with jazz combos, fusion groups, symphony orchestras and on movie
soundtracks.The Creative Writing Reading Series continues with a reading by visiting poet Vievee Francis at
7:30 p.m. in Prout Chapel.The 2011 Russian film "Faust" will be shown at 7:30 p.m. in Gish Film
Theater in Hanna Hall. The film won the Golden Lion at the 2011 Venice Film Festival.FRIDAYJazz Lab Band 1
performs with guest artist Peter Erskine on the drums at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall as the final Jazz Week
event.SATURDAYThe Conrad Art Song Competition will be held at the Donnell Theatre in the Wolfe Center for
the Arts. The semifinals begin at noon with the finals held at 8 p.m.The Western Brass Quintet from Western
Michigan University will perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.SUNDAYThe winners of the BGSU Chamber Music
Competition perform in the Great Gallery at the Toledo Museum of Art at 3 p.m.APRIL 9The winners of the
Conrad Art Song Competition perform at the Manor House of Wildwood Metropark in Toledo. The performance
starts at 7:30 p.m.APRIL 10Pianist Sang Woo Kang, will present a guest artist recital at 8 p.m. in Bryan
Recital Hall.AT THE GALLERIESThe Bachelor of Fine Arts Senior Thesis Exhibition continues through April 10
in the Dorothy Uber Bryan and Willard Wankelman galleries in the School of Art. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to
4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.
