Brown Bag concerts resumeThe Bowling Green Park and Recreation Departments Brown Bag Music Series
gets underway Friday at 11:45 a.m. in the banquet room of the Simpson Center, 1291 Conneaut Ave.Music, from
12:15 to 1 p.m., will be selections from the Bowling Green State University forthcoming production of
Gilbert & Sullivan’s "Princess Ida."The series is a collaboration between the department
at the BGSU College of Musical Arts.Listeners are invited to bring their lunches, Desserts and beverages are

Michigan musicians join forces for jazz showPERRYSBURG – Jazz saxophonist and composer David Bixler’s I-75
Ensemble will perform a St. Tim’s Discover Series concert Sunday at 3 p.m. at St. Timothy Episcopal Church,
871 East Boundary St.Joining Bixler will be Michigan-based musicians Andrew Bishop, tenor saxophone, and Tad
Weed, piano, with Bowling Green musicians Jeff Halsey, bass, Roger Schupp, drums, and Olman Piedra,
percussion.Peslikis alone & together with musical associatesMAUMEE – Pianist Michael Peslikis has
upcoming shows scheduled at Degage Jazz Cafe on River Road in several formats.Tonight the pianist from
Bowling Green plays a mix of jazz, blues, standards, ragtime, and more on solo piano from 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Peslikis will conduct his old-songs-from-old-movies trivia quiz.Jan. 25 will front his new trio featuring
Roger Schupp on drums and Adam Meinerding, on bass. The trio will be joined by vocalist Flo Metzger.Jan. 26
Peslikis will be back with the jazz band The Silverbacks featuring John Johnson, bass, Bob Manley,
saxophones and flute, and Schupp, drums.Cohen trio featured at Jazz on MaumeeTOLEDO – Jazz on the Maumee

– In conjunction with the exhibition Made in Hollywood: Photographs from the John Kobal Foundation,
award-winning costume designer Vinilla "Vin" Burnham will give a free presentation, "Touching
the Stars: Costume Design from the Covent Garden to Hollywood" at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20 at the Toledo
Museum of Art Peristyle.The presentation will focus on Burnham’s work for feature films, theater, opera,
ballet and television.In addition to designing the Lady Gaga’s "Living Dress," Burnham is the
talent behind the Batsuit, the Penguin and Catwoman costumes for "Batman Returns."The exhibit of
more than 90 prints of Hollywood luminaries closes on Sunday. Tickets are $4. Admission for museum members
is free.Symphony inspired by danceTOLEDO – Symphonic Dance will be the theme of the Toledo Symphony
Orchestra’s performances Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Toledo Museum of Art Peristyle.The Eastern
European flavored program features two Slavic Dances by Antonin Dvorak, Bela Bartok’s Dance Suite, Georges
Enesco’s Romanian Rhapsody, three of Johannes Brahms’ Hungarian Dances. Zoltan Kodaly’s Dances of Galanta

Benini conducts.Ballet casting ‘Giselle’TOLEDO – Toledo Ballet will hold auditions for its production of
"Giselle" Jan. 25, 4:15 to 7:00 p.m. at its studios at Westfield Franklin Park Mall.The auditions
are for ballet dancers who are level Intermediate II and Advanced. In addition, adults can audition at 7
p.m. for roles that include Giselle’s mother Berthe , Albrecht’s fianc?©e Bathilde as well as sundry
