Art hop happens Friday
Art, music, demonstrations and refreshments will figure into this month’s First
Friday Gallery Hop in Bowling Green.
The participating venues are:
• Akimbo Gallery, 175 N. Main St., "Honoring the Leaves" featuring raku
pottery by Anne Maiden. Music by Toraigh. Free make-n-take necklace with
Maiden’s hand-made raku pottery beads.
• Art-A-Site! 116 S. Main St., art by local and regional artists. Demonstrations from
6 to 8 p.m.
• Grounds for Thought, 174 S. Main St., current works on paper by Carrie Day.
• Manabigama Pottery Center, 13270 Bishop Road, wood fired pottery. Pottery making
demonstration by John Thies.
• Myles Baker Street Gallery, 434 W. Wooster St. Bowling Green Arts Council featuring
local artists. Music by BGSU Saxophone Quartet.
• Studio 14, 125 N. Main St., "Hollow Bones: An Examination of Objects
Forgotten" featuring tattoo artist Rich Cook, caricature artist and
illustrator, Derek Brennan, illustrator Kylee Moening, sculptor Amber
Whitenburg, painter Sarah Buddendeck, as well as resident artists. Oil painting
demonstration by John Embry.

PRIZM hosts Starbucks exhibit
PERRYSBURG – PRIZM Creative Community is sponsoring an exhibit "memories in
Time" at the Starbucks in Levis Commons, 3145 Levis Commons Blvd.
Participating in the exhibit is Beth Ware, Norma Meier, and Chris Burch.

leads to Maumee stage
WATERVILLE – Waterville Playshop opens its season with "The "Wizard of
Oz" Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2:30 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
in the Maumee Indoor Theater.
The show is directed by Inge Klopping with musical director Beth Hite and featuring
Tracy Wilson as choreographer.
Tickets are $12, $10 for students and seniors and $5 for children 12 and under,
available at www.watervilleplayshop.org, the theater or from cast members. A
limited number of prime, middle row seats will be available at each show for an

Waterville Playshop
casting ‘Lend Me a Tenor’
WATERVILLE – Tryouts for Waterville Playshop’s "Lend Me a Tenor", will be
on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. in the Family Life Center at Zion
Lutheran Church 22 N. 2nd St.
The cast is made up of four women and four men. John Oster is directing.
Performances will be held Feb. 8-10 at the Maumee Indoor Theatre.
