The Ohio Department of Transportation District Two office has confirmed
that paving work on the North Main Street widening project in Bowling
Green is scheduled to wrap up in the next several weeks.
This work was scheduled to be complete in the summer of 2013.
“The big factor for the project moving so quickly has been the weather.”
according to District Two Deputy Director Todd Audet. “Because of last
year’s mild winter, we were able to get the underground utility work
complete in one season. The dry weather over the summer helped to move
the remainder of the project forward.”
Over the next few weeks motorists will notice an increase in orange
barrels. Through November, crews will be paving, striping and performing
traffic signal work requiring lane restrictions. Crews will continue
signal work through the winter, weather permitting. By next spring, the
only work on the schedule will be final striping, seeding and signal
work requiring minimal lane restrictions.
Through November, lane restrictions are possible in both directions on
Main Street, between Dill Street and Newton Road, for paving, striping
and signal work.
During the same period lane restrictions are possible near the
intersection of Main Street and Poe Road for paving, striping and signal
work.
