Owens Concert plays Sunday
Area residents are invited listen to array of musical selections ranging from Broadway Show songs to
patriotic- and pop culture- themed numbers as the Owens Community College Concert Band presents its
annual Fall Concert on Sunday.
The free concert will begin 2:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre. Owens is located on Oregon Road in
Perrysburg Township. .
Selections presented by the Owens Concert Band, which is comprised of Owens students and employees and
community members, will include songs from "The Jersey Boys" and "Star Trek Thru the
Years" as well as "An American Fanfare", "Southwest Saga", "In the
Mood" and "Sabre and Spurs," among many others.
In addition, the Toledo School for the Arts Studio Winds will join the band on stage to perform the music
selections "American Salute", "New York: 1927", "Moravian Dance" and
"The Center Ring". Sharing the conducting duties for the combined bands will include Toledo
School for the Arts Director Jay Welnec, Owens Adjunct Instructor in Fine and Performing Arts and
Concert Band Conductor Fred Dais and retired Commander of the 555th Air Force Band Lt. Col. Robert
Krichbaum.
Perrysburg musical auditions
Auditions for the Perrysburg Musical Theatre’s fall production CINEMANIA: Music of the Silver Screen will
be Oct. 17-18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Commodore.
There will be no sign-up sheet, auditions will be first come, first serve. Be prepared to wait or come
back at a later time if there are a number of people in front of you.
Prepare a one minute and thirty second cut of a song from a film. Sing something you’re comfortable with
that shows off your range, ability and personality. You may bring a cut Karaoke track or sheet music. An
accompanist will be provided. Please mark all cuts and start/stop points clearly on your sheet music.

The production will stage Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. at Perrysburg High School, highlighting songs from
the movies of the 1930’s to the present.

David Mamet’s biting political skewer-fest, "November," directed by Tracy Lustic and presented
at Pam’s Corner located at 116 Tenth Street in downtown Toledo.
"November" contains strong language and adult content and is not suitable for younger audiences
or for those who are easily offended.

Rep Ed improv workshop rescheduled to Oct. 20
The Rep Ed program’s one-day only intensive improv workshop, originally scheduled for Sept. 29 has been
rescheduled for Oct. 20 from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the theatre, located at 16 Tenth Street.
This workshop will be taught by Rosie Best. Enrollment is limited to the first 20 students, ages 10 to
19, who sign up. Cost is $50.

Rep offers ‘United Weigh’
The Toledo Rep is asking patrons to bring along a non-perishable food item to any Main Stage or Special
Event performance they attend this season to help the Rep raise 2,000 pounds of food for local needy
food banks and soup kitchens.
