Rubble: Artists’ Responses to War and its Aftermath" exhibition expands to include
lectures and presentations to commemorate the International Day of Peace. A docent tour
of the exhibit begins at 3:30 p.m. in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery in the Fine Arts
Center. At 4:30 p.m., a lecture on "PTSD and the Effects of War on Soldiers"
will be held in 1101 Fine Arts Center. And at 6 p.m., the day concludes with the
Hiroshima Peace Seminar Student Presentations in the Hiroko Nakamoto Gallery at the Fine
Arts Center.MONDAYGuest artist James Ackley will perform a trumpet recital at 8 p.m. in
Bryan Recital Hall at BGSU’s Moore Musical Arts Center. FreeARTalks presents
"Immersive Space as a Channel for Communication" by Diana Reichenbach, a
multimedia artist from Los Angeles who creates films that focus on animation and
multimedia communication as a modern language. The event will start at 6 p.m. in 204
Fine Arts Center.SEPT. 25"Welcome to the Dollhouse" (1995), directed by Todd
Solondz about suburban adolescence anxieties,will be screened at 7:30 p.m. in the Gish
Film Theater at Hanna Hall.Chamber Jazz Ensembles will perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan
Recital Hall.AT THE GALLERIES"A Conversation: Glass Masters of Japan and the North
American Studio Glass Movement" continues through Sunday in Willard Wankelman
Gallery in the Fine Arts Center. "Celebration of Distinction: Tom Muir,
Jewelry/Metals Alumni and the Dorothy Price Collection" continues through Sunday in
the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery in the Fine Arts Center. "Out of Rubble: Artists’
Responses to War and its Aftermath," featuring the work of 18 international
artists, continues through Oct. 7. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through
Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays."SHADOWS: Spatial Literacy
and Resistance in the Americas," an exhibition of photographs by Jacinthe Jacques
and Dalton Anthony Jones is on exhibit at the Student Union gallery through Sunday. The
"Put Up and Shut Up" exhibition by BGSU alumna Cleo Brengman starts in the
Bowen-Thompson Student Union on Sept. 26, continuing through Oct. 14. Gallery hours are
8 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekends.CANCELLATIONSThe following
School of Art lectures previously announced have been canceled: Bjarke Ingels Group ,
Nov. 8 and Jeff Pike, November 12. The Pike talk will be rescheduled for the spring.
