Jazz crooner kicks off Live in House

Crooner, songwriter and pianist Harry Bacharach will bring his genre-bending fusion
of jazz, blues, folk and funk to Wood Cunty for two shows this weekend.The
Cleveland performer will play Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Pemberville Opera
House and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Grand Rapids Town Hall Opera House.In
Cleveland Scene Anastasia Pantsios wrote: "Bacharach’s smooth piano and
feathery vocals feature spritely, infectious melodies and clever lyrics that
display their creator’s offbeat outlook and wry sense of humor."Bacharach,
34, has played private concerts for Stevie Wonder, Barry Manilow and has opened
for David Sanborn and Joey DeFrancesco. He has appeared on NPR radio and PBS
television.Bacharach performance kicks of the Live in the House concert series
at the two venues.Other concerts scheduled are:• October 6 and 7, Smokin’ Fez
Monkeys, a retro-vaudeville jugband described as being "on the cutting edge
of cornball."• Nov. 3 and 4, Wild Carrot playing contemporary folk music
described as "honest, soothing, uplifting and fun all at the same
time."• Dec. 1 and 2, The Local Girls, presenting a Christmas program
featuring three-part harmony.• Jan. 5 and 6, Silent Movie Night.• February 2 and
3, illusionist and magician Stephen Knight• March 2 and 3, Picks and Sticks
