‘Shoedown’ underway in BG in conjunction with Art Walk
The Downtown Bowling Green Art Walk Committee is challenging local artists and business owners to a
"shoedown" to promote the 20th Annual Art Walk on April 28.
Gayle Walterbach, owner of Coyote Beads and a member of the committee, developed the concept as a way to
raise awareness about the Art Walk."
"I called a few businesses to ask if they would like to participate and they were very enthusiastic
in their responses. I asked them to decorate shoes to put on display in their store," she said.
The event was inspired y The Art Walk logo, designed by Kelli Kling, which fancifully decorated high top
tennis shoe.
Each Shoe Down participant is encouraged to put a creative spin on the design.
The finished designs are on display at participating downtown businesses throughout the month of April.
If some of the designs catch your eye, make sure to bid on them at the silent auction being held at the
After Art Walk Party, 6p.m. on April 28 at Grounds for Thought.
Proceeds from the silent auction will help Downtown Bowling Green pay for this summer’s flowers in the
downtown area.
