Pianist juxtaposes new music with Beethoven sonatas
Pianist Jason Hardink will perform a mix of works by Beethoven and contemporary American composers in a
guest recital at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall in the Moore Center for the Musical Arts on the Bowling
Green State University campus.
Hardink is NOVA Chamber Music Series artistic director and principal symphony keyboardist with the Utah
Symphony. He has performed previously in Bowling Green with his wife, pianist Kimi Kawashima, formerly
of Bowling Green.
Hardink will perform Curtis Curtis-Smith’s "Rhapsodies," Jason Eckardt’s "Echoes’ White
Veil" and Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in D Minor "The Tempest" and Piano Sonata in C
Minor."
Rhapsodies employs the "bowed piano" technique developed by Curtis-Smith.
Red Skelton comedy at Way
PERRYSBURG – The comedy "The Fuller Brush Man" starring Red Skelton will conclude the Reel Talk
film series at Way Pubic Library on April 12 at 10 a.m.
Skelton play a hapless door-to-door salesman who becomes the prime suspect when one of his customers is
murdered. Janet Blair co-stars.
Joe Espen, long-time area movie projectionist and film collector, will be guest speaker.
Art journal workshop sponsored by PRIZM
PERRYSBURG – PRIZM Creative Community will host an Art Journaling Workshop on April 14 from 1:30 to 4:00
p.m. at the Way Library 101 E. Indiana Ave.
presenter David Lymanstall will discuss how visual illustrations can add to personal or hobby journals
and suggest creative possibilities.
The instructional cost of this workshop is $20 for PRIZM members and $25 for non-members. Registration is

Art journaling is a personalized diary that includes words and illustrations of an individual’s life
events, hobbies, travels and other creative ideas.
Bead shop hosts class
Coyote Beads & Jewelry, 178 S. Main St., Bowling Green, will hold a two-week class on creating a
small patio table or window at Coyote Beads and Jewelry. The class begins Monday and concludes on April
