Perrysburg chorale sings Civil War music
PERRYSBURG – The Perrysburg Symphony Chorale will perform "Music of the Civil War" in two
concerts this weekend.
The concerts will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 316 Adams St.,Toledo, and Sunday at 2
p.m. at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 871 East Boundary St. Perrysburg.
The chorale will be joined by singers from Perrysburg High School in a patchwork of music from the period
including the area premier of Jeffrey Van’s work based upon Walt Whitman’s war poetry "A Procession
Winding Around Me."
BGSU singers, orchestra performs Mozart’s ‘Requiem’
TOLEDO – The Bowling Green State University Choral Society and the Bowling Green Philharmonia will
present Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s "Requiem" on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady, Queen of the
Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd at Islington Ave.
The ensembles will be conducted by Dr. Mark Munson, director of choral activities at the BGSU College of
Musical Arts. Soloists are Grace Hirt, soprano; Torii Rutledge, mezzo-soprano; Dustin Hill, tenor; and
Eric Blair, bass/baritone.
A freewill offering will be collected to defray expenses for this concert. For more information contact

Masterworks Chorale performs Rutter’s ‘Requiem’
ROSSFORD – Masterworks Chorale will perform John Rutter’s "Requiem" Saturday at 8p.m. Sacred
Masterworks at All Saints Catholic Church on Lime City Road.

Tickets still available for community band cabaret
Tickets are still available for the Bowling Green Area Community Band’s cabaret style concert on Saturday
at 8 p.m. at the Bowling Green Training and Community Center on Newton Road.
The band will perform a variety of pops and dance music and be joined by special guests with special
guests The Tower Brass Quintet.

BGSU presents ‘Dutchman’ performance, discussion
Bowling Green State University Department of Theatre and Film, as part of the Elsewhere season, will
present "Dutchman" by Amiri Baraka Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. in The Wooster Street Center,
1124 East Wooster St.
Due to the portrayal of violence and strong language, no children under 13 will be admitted, and viewer
discretion is advised.
"Dutchman" is a one-act play that dramatizes an encounter between a middle class African
American man and a Bohemian white woman as an absurdist ritual on the New York City subway.
The BGSU Office of Multicultural Affairs has been instrumental in using this production as a learning
tool to incorporate a shared understanding of diversity and inclusion among its cast and crew.
Because of the violent nature of the show, both BGSU Theatre and OMA are working with the BGSU Counseling
Center for on-site services to audience members following each performance. BGSU College of Arts and
Sciences Associate Dean and Professor of Theatre, Marcus Sherrell, will also lead a post-show discussion
following each performance.
The cast also includes: Kevin Lewis, Allison Kump, Hailey Hammersmith, Chelsea Herzog, and Courtney D.

Flying Joe hosts shows
PERRYSBURG – Flying Joe, 2130 Preston Parkway, will present Sarah and Guy Lucas Saturday from 8 to 10
p.m. and an open mic night March 28 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Film about Islamic art to be screened at museum
TOLEDO – "Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World" will be shown in the Toledo Museum of
Art’s Little Theater at Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
Alex Kronemer, one of the executive producers of a new documentary, will introduce the 90-minute film,
which is scheduled for future broadcast on PBS.
Narrated by Academy Award-winning actress Susan Sarandon, the film takes audiences on a journey across
nine countries and over 1,400 years of history.
Admission is free.
Toledo Symphony presents Michael Jackson show, videos
TOLEDO – The Toledo Symphony Orchestra is circulating to videos to promote its "The Music of Michael
Jackson" performances.
One video features WTOL 11’s own Jerry Anderson describing a local phenomenon of sequin-wearing MJ fans
dancing while doing their everyday jobs. Toledo Symphony musicians provide the music video with a unique
symphonic version of "Billie Jean."
In the second, Greenwood Elementary students burst into the choreography for Michael Jackson’s
"Thriller" music video at a local Rave Cinema.
The Symphony is collaborating with Windborne Productions on the symphonic rock show "The Music of
Michael Jackson" which will be staged Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Stranahan Theater.
