Chamber Music Competition winners

Seven small ensembles of Bowling Green State University undergraduate and graduate music students
competed in the sixth annual Chamber Music Competition over the weekend.
The College of Musical Arts events, partially sponsored by Pro Musica, was held Saturday with the final
round on Sunday.
Graduate division winners were:
• First place, Fawn Trio – Jianhong Hu, piano, Rachel Woolf, flute, and Spencer Prewitt, clarinet,
coached by Dr. Conor Nelson.
• Second place, Huan Jie Tso Trio – Ana Yoder, piano, Vicky Chang violin, and Claire Werling, clarinet,
coached by Dr. Penny Thompson Kruse and Ioana Galu.
Undergraduate winners were:
• First place, GiGi Saxophone Quartet – Anthony Nicolai, soprano saxophone, Angela Carpenter, alto
saxophone, Abby Brown, tenor saxophone, and Jochen McEnvoy, baritone saxophone coached by Po-Fang Chang,
Pin-Hua Chen, Noa Even and Dr. John Sampen.
• Second place, Anemoi – Kat Schwarz, flute, Tom Atkinson, oboe, Aaron Gilbert, bassoon, Chuck Bentler,
clarinet, and Benjamin Bacni, horn, coached by Prewitt.
