Museum marks anniversary

TOLEDO – The Toledo Museum of Art will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the opening
of its current home Tuesday at 1 p.m.
The museum was established in 1901 in two rented rooms in the Gardner Building in the
city’s downtown.
During the celebration, a cake replica of the building will be on display, and
refreshments will be served in Libbey Court. Parking also will be free.
In addition, the 100th visitor to the Museum that day will receive a prize package,
including a membership, gift card and Art Hour and Toledo Symphony tickets.
Museum visitors may jot down their memories on forms available in the Herrick Lobby
or on the museum’s Twitter and Facebook pages.
